This will be my first commissioned Communion style portraits. Natalie is one of the most beautiful girls I have ever met, and her family is absolutely amazing and kind. We met at the Arboretum in Deerfield Beach, FL to take photographs around sunset. At the end of the shoot the skies opened up and completely poured down on us. Literally running to the cars to evade lightning.
I have never worked with a child who was so absolutely sure and natural in her poses. She knew exactly how she wanted to sit, where to look, came up with new ideas like a young creative director. I was simply floored by her professionalism at such a young age. Even her parents were 40 minutes early with props and getting two kids ready for a shoot. Never say it can’t be done. It all happens with great communication. From this shoot, her mother purchased an image on 18×24 Gallery Canvas wrap, prints, and a gorgeous white leather album.
I left on my 70-200mm on the Nikon D800 the entire time, cranking up the ISO as the sun went down and left me with almost no light.
